Campaign Story

St. Charles Lwanga Boystown has been a place of hope and opportunity for vulnerable boys for decades. But today, our facilities can no longer keep up with the needs of the children we serve. To continue providing a safe and nurturing environment, we are launching a campaign to renew and expand our infrastructure.

Your support will help us realize four essential projects:

• Construction of an 80-capacity dormitory: The current semi-permanent dorms, built over 15 years ago, are worn out. The current dorms are uncomfortable—too cold during the rainy season and too hot during the dry months. A new dormitory with inbuilt bathrooms and toilets will provide the boys with a safer, more comfortable place to call home.

• Junior Secondary Block (3 classrooms and a lab): With Kenya’s new competency-based curriculum, our pupils must transition to junior secondary school after grade six. Building proper classrooms and a lab will give them the tools to thrive under this system.

• Dining Hall and Chapel: At present, the center lacks a proper dining hall. This new space will not only provide the boys with a decent place to share meals but also serve as a multipurpose hall for meetings, gatherings, and spiritual growth.

• Modern Chicken House Rehabilitation: The current traditional chicken house cannot sustain both nutrition and income needs. Upgrading it will improve food security (eggs and meat) and generate income for sustainability, helping cover feeds and basic expenses.
